If you have followed the blog lately you have seen some home update posts. This might be my favorite update we did to my house. I can't believe wallpapering one tiny wall can make such a difference. Before the baby was born I enlisted the help of my Mom and we attempted to wallpaper this wall. We knew we weren't professionals so I bought removeable wallpaper...thank goodness I did.We did pretty good until the end. It got a little wrinkled behind the toilet, but no one can see that right? We call ourselves the DIY Junior Varsity Squad, so close to making the varsity team, but we usually fall apart in the end :)
Step By Step Instructions:
1. Measure your wall you want to wallpaper.
2. Lay out the wallpaper, measure and cut to the size. We left about a 1 inch at the bottom so we could use a knife to cut the edges by the baseboards.

3. Peel off the backing of the removable wallpaper, slowly start to stick it on the wall. Having the second person slowly peeling off the backing.
4. Using a squeegee remove the air bubbles.
5. Repeat.
6. At the bottom you should have some left over wallpaper. Using a knife cut the remaining wallpaper so it sits right next to your baseboards.
If you make a mistake you can pull up the wallpaper and restick it. Just don't do it too many times it'll lose it adhesiveness.

A Few Other Details:
I first off painted the bathroom all white. My entire house is painted this beige color so I painted the powder bathroom white. I also redid the flooring in here. It was just awful before, you can refer to the picture above to see how awful it really was. I called them the "camo floors". These camo floors were in the powder bath, laundry room, and guest bathroom so I went and picked out new vinyl flooring. I ended up finding some that was 50% off at Standard Paint and Flooring in Kennewick. They had a great selection at a bunch of different price points. So if you are in the Tri-Cities area I suggest you check them out, ask for Sarah she was an awesome help! The white paint and flooring made such a subtle difference in the bathrooms.

I also ended up finding this cute little picture at hobby lobby that went perfectly with the wallpaper. And at bed bath and beyond I found this white trash can to complete the room. I added white shelving above the toilet, but it was impossible to get a photo of that cause this powder room is REALLY small. I also added a dimmer to the light in the bathroom. It's nice when you have guests over for a party to dim the bathroom lights and light some candles. I learned that trick from my Aunt Kathy!
It's amazing how redoing one little room can make such a big difference in the house. It is the only bathroom on the main floor of my house and it is visable right when you walk in the door. So painting it and redoing the flooring made a difference, but the real difference with the accent wallpaper wall that we did for under $100. We found our wallpaper at Dormco.com but there are many other places online you can find it.
