My husband and I got married last August in my home town of Kennewick, Washington. When we got engaged I knew right away I wanted a barn wedding. After the search for the perfect barn came up empty, I had to reevaluate what I had thought was my dream wedding.
There are literally hundreds of beautiful wineries surrounding my home town, so a winery wedding seemed like an obvious choice. When I came across Terra Blanca Winery it was clear that this was the perfect venue and that this was my real dream wedding.
This is the view from the tasting room. So peaceful and remote. It captures the unique beauty of eastern Washington.
Vineyards surround the winery, adding beauty around the entire venue and It was the perfect back drop for photos.
This is a photo of our first kiss. The ceremony area was enclosed by the rock walls which made it feel private and romantic (even with 150 people there). One great thing about a winery wedding is that it usually has so much natural beauty, not a lot of extra decor is needed.
Variety of wedding colors
We moved inside the winery for dinner. I continued to try to keep the decor simple and elegant, not competing with the wineries charm. I wanted the winery and floral arraignments to be the main focus. Because of this I didn’t have traditional wedding colors, I used more of a color palette.

I didn’t actually decide on any colors at all until I started choosing flowers. I knew I wanted black and white for the wedding party but that was about it. When I started looking at flower arrangments I loved the deep purple in contrast to the greenery. So I started there and then added softer colors to pull everything together to create our “wedding color palette.”.
I absolutely loved our flowers, one of my favorite things from the wedding for sure!
After the wedding we had the flowers loaded in my parents car to take with us. I was surprised to hear how many brides don’t take their flowers….What a waste! We decorated my parents house for the gift opening that was taking place the next day. With the rest we had a friend take them to nursing homes, churches and veterans grave sights. After spending a pretty penny on them it was nice to see them have a second life.
Cigar Bar
After dinner we moved out to the adjoining courtyard for dancing and socializing. In the back corner we had a cigar bar set up. It was something so simple and easy and it made a big impact. I even got multiple complements on it just this past weekend at a friends wedding!

We bought the cigars in large quantities so they were not too crazy expensive. To decorate the table my planner found old cigar boxes on Etsy, that were very reasonably priced. We added candles, a cute sign and some of my families old crystal ash trays. It was super fun, and something different. It also made for some great photos, like the one below of my bother-in-law.
Lastly, I have to share one of my favorite photos. This was our beautiful flower girl, we had so much fun getting her ready for the big day.
Wedding Advice:
Take a minute or two during your wedding to sneak away with your husband and have a moment just you two. After our ceremony we went in a private room to sign the marriage certificate. After everything was signed we had everyone leave the room, even the photographer. Carey Price and Angela Price wedding took a minute to just ourselves to just take in the moment. That ended up being the only time we really had to ourselves the entire evening.

The day flew by way to fast, heck the entire year leading up the the wedding flew by! So if you are a bride to be try to enjoy not only the day but the entire process.
