So I've been on a quest to find more things to entertain both kids and I don't have the energy to set up two different activities. So here are 5 activities that I can do that both kids enjoy. They are super simple and pretty much are mess free which is a even bigger WIN!
1. Water Beads-
We have just loved these water beads for all stages of my kids lives, I get them online but I have seen them at walmart. Leo is constantly using them to make sensory bins for his sea creatures. In the summer we let him fill his water table full of theses, and in the winter we put them in a giant tupperware and he gets all his construction vehicles out and hauls them around. But there is still a way for little ones to use and play with them. I fill a few different plastic bags (make sure you tape them shut at the top) then tape them to the window. She loves pressing them and squishing them in the window.

2. Paint In A Plastic Bag-
For this I just put paint and some items like little glitter pieces into a plastic bag. She smushed them around and hit the bag and then Leo got to just paint.

3. Pom Pom Whisk -
So this was actually fun for both kids. Leo helped me stuff the whisks and it was his ideas to use bells and pom poms. He really enjoyed stuffing them more than pulling the things out. Monroe mostly enjoyed shaking hers and hearing the bell sounds. But after watching Leo for awhile she started then pulling the items out, this is a great fine motor skill for your little ones. You just have to watch your babies if they still put things in their mouth, Monroe stuffed a giant bell in her mouth and it actually was kinda hard to get it out.

4. Magnets On A Cookie Sheet-
So for Monroe she practices pulling them off and on. Then we go over animal sounds, although I've struggled with what a panda, giraffe, and turtle say! For Leo I tell him to pick an animal and tell me 3 characteristics, such as what they eat, where they live, if they live in packs or live alone. He surprisingly has come up with some amazing facts. Like for the turtle he told me that they live in the ocean and mean sharks come and eat them as their pray.

5. Layered Tape Pull-
I was SHOCKED how long this took them. Monroe did it for about 5 minutes then I ended up just putting some tape on the window for her to pull, but this kept Leo entertained for 15 minutes. What is awesome about this activity it is virtually no mess. I am going to do this on her high chair and I think I might take some tape on our flight for Thanksgiving. We could easily do this on the plane.
So as I said these were some great activities for both my kids to do. I specifically designed them for Monroe but I was surprised if I added a little extra spin or more directions they could also entertain Leo. Please share with me if you have any more good entertainment for your little ones! We always love a new activity.
Cheers,
Jess
