Bell bottoms and flared jeans really? Just feels like yesterday I was splurging on a pair true religion bell bottom jeans, even though it was probably 8 years ago. Looking at this years fall styles I really wish I wouldn't of thrown away my college staples... 7 For All Mankind and Citizens of Humanity flared jeans. At last, they are back in fashion. The disco trend has been creeping it way back in high fashion for awhile now. First we saw the romper and jumpsuits appear then not far behind were the high waisted jeans and shorts. Not surprising to see the bell bottoms, peasant tops, suede, and fringe in all of our favorite stores. I was in Nordstrom last week and I most things screamed the 1970s. From the styles to the colors, not only are bell bottom jeans back but so is mustard yellow. I wasn't quite ready to try the bell bottom jeans with a printed or wild colored shirt. I actually had these jeans from dare I say it 4 years ago. I rarely ever wore them but I'm sure glad I have held on to them. I kept a modern twist on this outfit by wearing the bell bottoms with a grey knit tank and black chunky wedges. Speaking of chunky shoes they are also back in style. I had also held on to these chunky shoes from a few years ago. I guess hoarding clothes in my closet for long enough has finally paid off! I was surprised by how flattering the silhouette really is. I am only 5'5 so in my mind I thought these jeans would only look good on tall people, but when paired with some tall shoes they really do lengthen the legs. If I had bought the jeans now I would of had the hem be a bit longer, but this is what I had in my closet and I wanted to test out the trend before buying anything else. Shop this Look: Jeans // Tank // Clutch // Sunglasses Keeping the modern and simple trend I wore my aviators (I had planned on wearing different sunglasses but forgot them at home so I kinda had to work with it). I love the earrings I picked up at a street vendor. They are super light weight and kind of fit into the 70's theme. Here is another detailed shot of the earrings. I really do love them, they were a great street fair find. Overall I am not quite sold on these bell bottoms, mostly I don't think I'm ready to give up the skinny jeans with booties. I did transition out of most of my tall boots as they have been on their way out the past 2 winters (according to fashion magazines... who knows). Although I'll never get rid of or quit wearing my Frye tall boots or my Hunter rain boots. I think my biggest hangup on flared and bell bottom jeans is the shoe game. I don't see myself purchasing a ton of platform shoes. But who knows never say never. Happy Friday!
Cheers, Jess

I'm actually excited to see skinny jeans phase out and get put back on the shelf... Don't get me wrong, I love a good riding boot paired with skinny jeans and a nice sweater for fall, but it feels like they've really had their time in the spotlight and now it's time for something else. I have a pair of bells from Citizens that I LOVE. I think it was 4-5 years ago when they came home with me and I can't wait to bust 'em out! Great post :)

Love today's FF, Jess! I love everything this look! Flared / boot cut jeans and wedges are a favorite look of mine so I'm glad they say they're "back in style." They create a very slimming and long silhouette and give such a laid back feel.

Eeekk! When I first heard flares are back I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO but you're making them look great, Jess! Also, mustard yellow is one of my favorite colors to wear in the fall and I'm pumped that it's going to be made more available. I once asked a girl in a store if she had anything in mustard yellow and she was like "eww no"..needless to say, I'm super excited!

Wow! You literally look perfect in everything...I'm wayyy too scared to wear anything but my skinny jeans. This style looks AMAZING on you but flared jeans aren't my cup of tea...
