Every other year my Aunt Kathy and her husband Chris hold a event for the ASPCA. It is such a fun event for us coming from Washington. We enjoy we get to dressed up and pretending for a weekend we are LA people. I always look forward to choosing an outfit. I had planned on doing rent the runway dress but when I looked at the 90 degree weather my outfit I had rented didn't work. So I ended up going with an old trusty jumpsuit. In this post I will share a little about my outfit, the event, and the best celebrity outfit.
Let's start with some CELEB fashion! Ok Leo isn't a celeb but he should be in this little suit his Great Grandma got him. He stole the show on the orange carpet in this little number.
Sarah Hyland- Actually stole the show wearing this marigold velvet dress. She looked stunning and even more stunning in person than I expected. I love that she paired the dress with a teal suede pump. Talk about mixing colors and textures. Then topped it off with a bold red lip, it was pure perfection!!
Get this look for yourself for 1/2 the price. She was wearing Jimmy Choo pumps and a Antonio Grimaldi dress. But I found some other options for WAY cheaper!
Now a little about the event....
My Aunt Kathy (in orange) and her husband Chris (not pictured) hosts this fabulous event with 650 of their closest friends to raise money for the ASPCA. This year Sarah Hyland from Modern Family and Beth Behrs from 2 Broke Girls were honored by the ASPCA. She raised over $700,000 to help launch a new Mobile Spay and Neuter Clinic which operates in the inner cities of LA. There are some crazy statistics we heard that night, such as over 85,000 animals are euthanized a year in LA alone. Kathy believes in adoption but her passion is spaying and neutering animals. Get to the root of the problem before adoption is even needed. She has donated a mobile spay and neuter clinic which you'll see below. Her work for animals is pretty amazing. And it inspires me to give back. Whatever your cause is I challenge you to give and to volunteer with a charity that touches your heart. I'm a big animal lover like so many people in my family so I think I will continue on the ASPCA train. If you live in the Tri-Cities there are a few great local charities that are doing big things for animals. My favorite being Mikey's Chance Canine Rescue. My hope eventually once our kiddos get a little older is to be a foster dog mom for them. I'll step off the soap box now and show you some pretty photos from the evening.
Beth Behrs next to the "Kathy Taggares" Spay and Neuter Clinic! Here is a view inside. I believe she said they are able to spay and neuter 50 animals a day in this mobile clinic. This is pretty amazing and what a wonderful service they are providing to people who may otherwise forfeit their animals.
Little about my outfit which after seeing these photos is totally not important....
I work the event so I need something comfortable and something I can walk/run across the property. So a jumpsuit and block heels were a must. I picked up this jumpsuit at Nordstrom for $75, sadly it is sold out but I included some other jumpsuit options. Because the event was on grass I wore them with some blush block heels and a blush clutch that never actually left my room. I paired it with my plum lipstick. I wasn't as "brave" as Sarah Hyland mixing colors but I love the contrast between the burgundy and the blush. It was a nice color to use in lieu of doing a nude or a black.

Hope you have a good Halloween weekend and to all the American Pie, Legally Blonde and 2 Broke Girls lovers out there..... Jennifer Coolidge was probably the sweetest and funniest celeb I've ever met.
Cheers,
