I'm officially a Tri-Cities resident again. And as every Tri-Cities resident knows the biggest event of the year in The TC is the boat races. Although I won't be watching the races at Columbia Park, I will be out on a boat enjoying them. Our friends at Columbia Center Mall asked me to come up with a "boat race outfit". This was another good challenge for me as I'm 30 with a "mom bod". Why didn't I get asked to do this post pre-baby. Nonetheless I found something that is age appropriate, but is still perfect for race weekend.
I will not be sporting a two piece, and thank goodness one pieces are all over right now. I was nervous to try one with cut outs but the sales girl atConcept (a new boutique store in the mall) talked me into trying it on and I ended up LOVING it. I paired the one piece with some high low cut off shorts and a kimono. I don't step out in a bikini or swimsuit anymore with out a kimono. It provides great coverage of your booty, blocks the sun, but you are still able to show off your suit.
I paired this outfit with some gladiator sandals. I didn't want ones that went all the way up to the knee cause who has time for that when you wanna jump into the water plus those tan lines would be awful. I picked these up on sale at JC Penneys. For my accessories I headed to Charming Charlies for some bangles and fun sunglasses. I recommend some cheap sunnies for the boat races, or whenever you are out on a boat for all the obvious reasons.
I highly encourage you all to check out the store Concept at the mall, they also have a baby and kids store near JCPenneys. I went a little crazy there getting Leo some rompers, their stuff reminded me of a boutique I went to in Portland. They really have unique and fun stuff!!! I had fun browsing the mall yet again. IF you are looking for an outfit for the boat races I also suggest Pac Sun, Abercrombie, American Eagle, Zumiez, JCPenney, Apricot Lane, and Macy's they had great kimonos, swimsuits, swimsuit cover ups and sandals.
