I have been a lover of sparkles since I was a little kid. I remember for Christmas begging my parents for a PJ Sparkles doll, she arrived on Christmas morning and since then I have used any excuse to wear sparkles like her. PJ Sparkles lives in a box now, but she has had an impact on my fashion even today. I never miss an opportunity to be able to wear a beaded dress or sequins, too bad we can’t have adult proms. Now our version of “adult prom” happens in Vegas or on New Years Eve, and it seems every girl can’t resist a sequin dress or skirt for these events. Girls obviously enjoy wearing them, but yet there are only a few places that sequins are acceptable to wear. So that is where this post comes in, I was tired of the idea that “sequins are too fancy”. Lately I have been loving mixing patterns and textures, so I decided why can’t this same principle apply to sequins. So I tested my theory and this is how I decided to make them look more casual, I paired them distressed jeans, rocker boots, and plaid shirt. (Which I literally took off my sister in law when she came over to my house last night, Thanks Julie!) I love this look and I can’t wait to wear it out and about, from date night to Sunday brunch you can rock this look anywhere.
Daytime Outfit: Sequins, Plaid, and Distressed Jeans
Date Night Look: Sequin Jacket, Black Tank, Distressed Jeans, and Black Heels
A few years ago I got this jacket and have only wore it a few times. I decided to pair it with a simple black shirt and my thrift store Jimmy Choo shoes for a “date night” look! Can’t wait to rock these sequins in Portland!!
Lastly, I thought I would share with you a recent outfit that I wore. It was my rehearsal dinner dress and for our anniversary dinner I decided to wear it again. This time I paired with booties and a leather jacket to make it look a little more casual.

So girls point of this post….. don’t be afraid to wear your sequins, you can see from this post how easy to dress them down!
Cheers and Happy Halloween,
