Summer time is a great time to try out some new date ideas. I'm all about being outside as much as possible in the summer. Jay and I make a good point to go on nightly walks, go on hikes, and explore the city. But sometimes it's fun to try some new date night ideas. I came up with a few ideas that we have either done or I've been dying to do. Hope any of them inspire you, I think my favorite from this list might be the laser tag/ kids activity date.
Find a Drive In-
Jay and I are lucky that there is a drive in about 30 minutes away. We love going once in the summer, packing a picnic with snacks and a bottle of wine and enjoying the movie. It is like stepping back into time, the hardest part is trying to stay awake for the 2nd showing which usually is the better movie.

Tour Your City-
Have a little staycation in your town. If you wanna splurge on a hotel even better, if not do some fun touristy stuff you'd never usually do. For us that would probably involve some Salt & Straw Ice Cream after strolling down 23rd, and maybe a trip to OMSI. The more dorky or clique the better! Plus it'll be way more fun that way.

Head to the Fair-
You and your hunny should head to the fair, enjoying a ride on the ferris wheel like we used to do in middle school. Enjoy an elephant ear and walk around and see the animals. If you have all night check out the concert at the fair or do my favorite and go to the rodeo!

Enjoy a Sunset (with a bottle of wine)-
Head a bit out of town somewhere quiet and remote, a field would be perfect, and take a bottle of wine and enjoy a sunset with your special someone.

Be A Kid-
Go mini golfing, bumper cars, go kart racing, laser tag, or have a water balloon fight. Whatever it may be to make your date night a little fun and goofy and go enjoy some "Good Clean Fun" like you used to do as a child. Plus a little competition is always fun.

Sign Up for a Fun Run-
Whether it be a fun run, a color run a mud run. Sign up for something it'll be fun to do together, plus it'll create a little bonding before hand because you'll have to do a little training together.

Camp in the Living Room or On the Deck-
This used to be Jay and I's favorite thing to do in Milwaukee. We don't have a TV in our bedroom so we would get a large pizza some Miller High Life and a few good movies. Blow up the air mattress and have a movie marathon in the living room. It was so fun to do and this one can be enjoyed by the whole family.

Take a Mystery Road Trip-
This has been on my list for so long to do. I have a few sights in Oregon I'm dying to see before we move. To name a few Crater Lake, Painted Hills, Lake Wallowa and Ashland. So identify your favorites and set out on a road trip and see where you end up. The best part of this is who knows the towns you'll end up in or the sights you'll see along the way.

Happy date night planning! Hopefully you can carve some time out for any of these fun things!
