I recently hosted a girls night unlike any other. I have been wanting to host a girls night but one with a purpose. I am constantly asking Jay to remind me how to do CPR on a child as well as walk me through the steps if Leo was choking. I feel very lucky that Jay is so well versed in CPR but not everyone has that luxury. So the idea was born to host a CPR girls night. This is something that all Mom's should do..... more about this informational night below.
I contacted a local company that Cathy runs that specializes in CPR training. I asked her if she would come to my house to teach a class on infant and children CPR. I told her we didn't want to be certified or anything we simply wanted to learn how to save a child if any of us were ever in that terrible situation.
I found Cathy through her Facebook HERE, she was amazing and worked with me to come up with an idea for class. But before class could start I clearly needed to have a happy hour. I invited some girls over an hour before for wine and appetizers. It was nice to have a little social hour before so we were all able to focus during the hour long class.
****If you are local in the Tri-Cities you should contact Cathy she said she often lets parents or babysitters sit in on classes without a fee.

So as you can see we all got to practice and ask a ton of questions after our class was over. She had some great handouts for us that I put in our kitchen so I can review them every so often. I highly suggest holding this type of girls night. I hope none of us ever have to use CPR but I feel so much more prepared as a parent and in general knowing CPR.
Because of this I decided to come up with a few other girls night alternatives.... these probably are a little more FUN and less practical than a CPR class but none the less a fun alternative.
