We all love grilling in the summer. My husband doesn't eat fish so the minute I find out I"m coming to visit my parents I asked them if we can grill salmon. We literally eat this exact recipe almost once a week. I decided to share with you this simple marinade for your salmon. You will have all the ingredients in your fridge and if you don't you can find similar stuff to combine together.
Per usual I never follow a recipe I just combine the ingredients to taste. I add more if I don't think it taste good. But this time I tried my best to measure it out. I ended up adding more lemon so remember to try your marinade before you put it on the salmon. You can always add in more of something!
Simple Salmon Marinade
Ingredients:
In a bowl, combine all the ingredients and keep stirring with fork until the sugar is dissolved. Place fish in a large plastic bag or in foil and pour in your marinade. Seal and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. If you can get the marinade on a bit sooner that is even better!
Cook it until it's done! Easier said than done, it depends big the salmon filets you are cooking and how you prefer it. We usually just watch it and check on it every few minutes. Click HERE to read a great article that has some helpful hints on cooking salmon.

My Dad had just got a new "Grill Mat" and was so excited to cook on it and most importantly for me to blog about. He really wanted me to show how it makes clean up super easy and the salmon cooked great. You can even throw the mat into the dish washer. You can pick up these type of grill mats at a few places, bed bath and beyond, walmart, or my go to...AMAZON! To shop this grill mat click here!
We served our salmon with some grilled veggies from my uncle's garden. Bell peppers, zucchini, onions, mushrooms, and hot peppers! All we do is wrap them in foil, season them with olive oil, minced garlic, salt and pepper. They are perfect that way. If you want more flavor you can always grab some italian salad dressing and pour that on them. Literally this meal is so healthy and beyond simple to make. I highly recommend it!
