I don’t know what it is, but the minute after 7pm rolls around all I can think about are treats! I have no problem staying on the healthy track during the day, sadly I can not say the same for the evenings. What the heck is the deal with this?! So annoying!
I always tell myself that I am not going to snack at night, but I always find myself sneaking in the pantry grabbing the most unhealthy thing I can find. Obviously giving up my evening treats is just not an option. So I have been trying to be a little more prepared. Instead of chowing down on the first semi sweet thing I can find, I have my sweet treats planned out like the rest of my meals.

Frozen Bananas Bite
This is about as easy as it gets. You slice a banana, throw a little spoon full of your favorite nut butter in the middle of two pieces and put it in the freezer for about an hour (that is if you can keep from snacking on them for that long). If you want to take it a step further, you can dip the pieces in melted dark chocolate before putting in the freezer.

Chia Pudding
Another super easy treat is chia pudding.
I mix the chia seeds and milk in a small dish and let set in the fridge over night. I usually make two or three of these to keep in the fridge for the week. After it is set I add some berries and sliced almonds and put in the microwave for about 40 seconds. You can eat it cold, but I find it to be more satisfying when warm. If you need some added sweetness you can also add a little stevia.

Air Popped Popcorn
popcorn
When I am craving more salty than sweet I make a little serving of air popped popcorn. I put a small handful of popcorn kernels in a paper lunch bag. I put it in the microwave on the popcorn sensor cook, usually takes around 2 or 3 minutes. Then I lightly spray the popcorn with olive oil and sprinkle it with a little sea salt. So easy, delicious and without all the additives of traditional microwave popcorn.

Homemade Hot Chocolate
hot coco
I looooove hot chocolate! So I had to find a way to make a healthier version to take some of the guilt out of it. I stumbled across this recipe and I love it.
You warm the milk in a small sauce pan over medium low heat. Add other ingredients stirring constantly until desired temperature is reached.
All of these are seriously delicious. I hope you try them, and let me know what you think.
