Agh the dreaded shoulder season. There is a few more weeks we can get away with wearing our fun summer clothes, but soon we will be in the month of September where we want to bust out our new fall clothes but the weather is too warm. It's the shoulder season for style and so that is what this post is all about. Here is how I pair my favorite summer and fall pieces together to get you through the rut of September.
Don't get me wrong September is one of my favorite months, but like every "basic b*tch" October is my go to month. It's been my favorite month for a long time probably because fall is AWESOME no need to explain and the fact that I love fall colors way more than I love summer colors. Give me army greens, rust colors, and browns and I'm in heaven. Here are a few of favorite fall-ish summer options.
I'm wearing my raw cut denim jeans that have been a favorite of mine all summer from J.Crew I love the color for summer and spring but when you pair them with an olive green color and brown they easily can transition into fall. I'm wearing a super old shirt in my closet that has been a staple. I think olive green like beige it should just be considered a neutral. I love the color and I think it looks good on every skin tone. I am wearing my favorite summer sandals cause in September you can totally rock jeans and sandals. There are only a few months that you can pull that look off. And I finished the outfit off with and oldie but goodie my light brown cross body bag. I'm super into the saddle bags right now I included some good priced ones at the bottom. I have my eye on one of the for my go to fall bag.
Pull it all together by tucking in the front of the shirt. I don't know why this is popular again, but I actually love it.... that it makes your legs look longer. These jeans are little higher waisted than others so it even makes my short legs look longer. Hey I'll do anything to make my legs look a tiny bit longer.
Hope this gives you some ideas on how to pair your summer tanks with jeans and sandals to help you get through the dreaded "shoulder" season. Also be sure to add a jacket for nights out. It was like 95 when we took these photos and there was no way I was putting on the jacket I had packed in the car.
