I happened to be shopping and saw this kimono hanging on the rack at Concept at the columbia center mall. I had been dying to try the long kimono look. I had been planning to wear this with a romper but we were in Walla Walla for the weekend and the weather had other plans for me. So I adapted as we often do in fashion and came up with this simple outfit. I think when in doubt about a new trend you go very simple! So that's what I'm here to talk about.

Ok so I had saw this trend but didn't know how I'd pull it off. I really wanted to try it with a romper or shorts but I wasn't able to. Hopefully this summer I can instagram that outfit. But in the mean time I had to go with plan be. I opted for my favorite "summer jeans' they are a light weight summer jeans. They are super light weight and very causal with all the distressing.

I think when working with such a statement piece like the patterned kimono it is best to keep it SIMPLE SIMPLE SIMPLE! So what is more simple than jeans and a white t-shirt. The only other bit of color I added some was fun shoes. If you are wanting to do something for the heat of summer try pairing this kimono with jean shorts and a white tank or a plain color romper.
As you can see I couldn't get enough of this. I was really worried about the length of it. i was thinking it would be too long and look awkward, but I was so surprised how much I LOVED this look! As I said I picked this one up at Concept.
