If you are in need of a quick and easy way to dye easter eggs, I have the answer for you. I really wanted Leo to dye eggs but knew he was too little to dye them the traditional way. I did a little looking online and found a lot of ideas but this one seemed like it would work best. Not only was there NO mess but Leo was able to get into it.
Supplies:
- Rice
- Food Coloring
- Tupperware
- Hard Boiled Eggs
Directions:
- Add rice into tupperwear containers
- Add in food coloring
- Add in egg
- Add in extra few drops of food coloring into the rice once the egg is in
- Shake Shake Shake
I'm not quite sure what Leo enjoyed more the dyeing of the eggs OR playing with the rice after we were done. The rice absorbs the color so it didn't even turn his hands orange. I saved the colored rice to do a sensory box with this summer. The rice is such a fun thing to play with outdoors.
I think the eggs turned out pretty good. The best part is that it was mess free..... well until we let Leo play with the rice and it got all over the tennis court.
I'm back in full force blogging this week. It will be an all kids blogging week. Wednesday, I'll be blogging about an Easter Egg sensory box I made for Leo to play with.
Then next week I have some before and after house pictures to show you. The first room that I will be showing is the dining room which I am REALLY excited about. Agh so much to blog about and only so many days in the week.
Cheers,
Jess
