I feel like I have fall decor up from September 15 till December 1, for this reason I break my fall decor up into 2 themes, halloween and then traditional fall decor. So mid September- Oct 31 we are all about skulls spiders and moody halloween decor, then November I swap mine out for more traditional "Thanksgiving" decor. Yes this seems like more work but I just love all the halloween stuff and can't turn down a skull if my life depended on it. A lot of Halloween decor to me looks cheap and so cheesy I opt for dark, moody, and stylish. Basically a sophisticated take on Halloween if that is such a thing (bachelor lovers remember Catherine Giudici term for her wedding "grown sexy") Well this is my version on halloween called sophicated spooky!
So my fireplace stays the same all of fall, but for Halloween I add in these skulls from Pier 1. I got the pumpkins last year at Home Goods and then I keep the vases up as well to add height. Most of the vases are from Home Goods as well .
For my kitchen island I have an untraditional look using 3 different type of orchids. Then I added in some small pumpkins from the $1 section from Target, a black felt skull, agate rock, and my favorite additional to the "sophisticated spooky" look is this silver snake. We recently killed a rattlesnake in our driveway, so when I saw this cool snake at Fred Meyer I had to have it. I absolutely love him and the look it adds to our kitchen. And Leo has asked to take it into his room to sleep with it (typical boy).
For our entryway I have a tall glass vase from Hobby Lobby and some black sticks from amazon. I also added in these pumpkin sticks from Hobby Lobby. Then I did some fall color Glassybaby and a orange fall wreath from Pier 1. All of these decor items are a few years old but I found a way to use them every year. This little table is a new addition to our house so it has been fun decorating it.
The dining room is my favorite and I can't wait to add more things to it. The dining room is a work in progress and this one I am sure won't be perfect for a few more year. But I got all of this stuff new this year from Fred Meyer. I love the glitter midnight blue skulls, black tree and the galaxy pumpkins. I think the color scheme of the decor fits our dining room to a T! I really want to add in a runner, some more agates and rocks and maybe some candle sticks. Hopefully I can update you on the progress and I hope to find a few more halloween items at the end of October when it all goes on sale. That is my favorite time to buy when everything is 75% off!!
Here are a few more inspirations for Halloween decor that I wanted to share with you!
Happy Fall and Happy Halloween my friends!

Jess
