Are you in search for some new summer shorts? I was and after trying 15 pair at Nordstrom I found the perfect pair of "Mom" shorts. I have always had the hardest time finding shorts, for a million reasons. Mostly because I just don't look good in shorts with 1 inch inseam, not to mention now having a small child I need something that is comfortable, cute, and long enough that my booty isn't hanging out. Well friends I'm happy to let you know that I found some!
This outfit is so casual and oh so comfortable, it screams early summer nights! I love nights when all you need is a light sweatshirt to stay warm. This is exactly what we were doing on this night this picture was taken. Enjoying a beer on the deck while Leo played. I am a big fan of "fancy" sweatshirts, Sundry tends to be my favorite brand but there are plenty of other brands. I always have one in the car or in my diaper bag to throw on in this in between weather. They also are my favorite thing to travel in.
But back to the shorts, so my girlfriend and I were at Nordstrom and I couldn't find any shorts. I was in the TopShop area and saw some literally called "Mom Shorts". I laughed and kept walking, I am NOT wearing shorts called "Mom Shorts". Flash forward to 15 minutes later and 10 pair of shorts laying on the dressing room floor. I wandered back out onto the floor and grabbed these, to my excitement there were PERFECT!
Just adding an extra inch to the inseam keeps them looking "in style" , but allows me to play with my child and bend over without showing someone my behind. They also are at a GREAT price point, $60! My other recommendations for places to try shorts is J.Crew, Madewell, and Gap. I have had good luck over the past few years at those stores.
As you can see here these are the perfect shorts for "mammin"! This is also a fun look at what blogging at our house looks like. Everyone always ask who takes my blog pictures, well my sweet sweet Husband does. Most of the time our child is with us and on this day he just wasn't having it. He wanted his "mama" and no part of his wanted to sit in his car patiently. So this is what our life really looks like in the spring, wind blowing a million miles an hour (please excuse the hair), kid dressed in his PJs, a 7pm car ride around our yard, all while I enjoy a beer. This is real life, while most of my pictures seem pretty staged I love when Jay captures real ones like this.
