Just like in college I had my class uniform which consisted of citizen of humanity jeans, a juicy zip up, and black booties I now have realized I have a new "mom" uniform. I refuse to be a mom that just wears workout clothes. I've always loved getting dressed up, although my lifestyle doesn't allow for that very often I've figured out a new style that works for me and my daily life. Here is my go to outfit that I own in a few different color combinations.
Finding a great t-shirt was my first step in creating my "mom" outfit. I tried a few different brands and ended up loving the linen t-shirts from J.Crew. I got them in a few different colors since they were on sale. I also fell in love with their jeans. I've never bought jeans from there, but while shopping I decided to try on a pair. They have some great lighter weight ones for summer. I paired the t-shirt with a long necklace, sunnies, and a pair of lace up wedges. Lace up shoes are all over right now, I got these last season and love them as much now as I did last year.
Step 2 of the outfit is adding a short sleeve plaid shirt. I ended up buying about 10 of these. They are the perfect shirt for nursing. I wear one most days. I've found a lot of different places to find them. I got this one at Evereve. I have also found them at Express, Nordstrom, and Revolve. I have kind of went overboard on this look. I added in my diaper bag which I've loved using as a diaper bag and as a message bag for myself. And there you have it.... here is my official "mom" outfit.
We are moving this weekend from Portland back to the Tri-Cities. My husband graduates from residency and we finally get to start "real life". I hope to blog on Monday, but if I don't I'll be back later in the week. Moving with a baby isn't the most efficient way to move. So long Portland, it's been a fun 3 years but I'm so excited to be back in our hometown.
Cheers, Jess
