I have the hardest time getting nail polish to last. I have super thin short nails, so polish tends to chip within the first day. Even gel manicures I get at the nail salon only last a week then it lifts. I was on a mission to find a way to get my nail polish to last longer. After about 6 months of trying a ton of nail products I finally found a system that works and I can get my at home manicure to last up to 5-6 days and for me that is a LONG time! So I'm sure if you have normal nails it'll last well over a week.
Here is my nail polish routine that works for me!
Start with OPI Chip Skip it is a nail primer that helps bond the nail and your polish together. It also removes the excess moisture from the nail leaving it clean and ready for your polish.
Next use a base coat! Base coats are made to help the polish go on smoother and last longer, so skipping this step is a big mistake that will lead to chipping of your manicure.
Apply two coats of Colorstay Gel Envy I love this nail polish. For some reason it last so long on me, double the length of any OPI or other polish. Make sure when applying a coat to your nails to use a bottle that has not started to clump or thicken. Roll the bottle between your palms to warm, and then apply two thin coats allowing each layer to dry. Too thick of polish leads to a messy manicure and one that will never dry!
Apply your Gel Envy Top Coat . Top coat is the the cherry on the top of your manicure. It helps polish last longer, resist chipping and stay extra shiny!

Other Nail Polish Tips and Tricks:
Chipped Polish- If you can avoid getting chips by applying top coat once every three days or so. Plus it'll keep your polish looking shiny.
Nail Polish That Won’t Dry- Did you apply your polish too thick or it just won't dry. Simply submerge your fingers in cold water for about three seconds. When you pull your hands out, the polish will be rock hard.
Darker Nail Polish Peels Faster- Keep this in mind when you are buying nail polish that darker polish peels faster. Due to higher pigmentation darker polishes just chip faster. For a long lasting look, try lighter strokes when applying your darker colors... or just opt for a lighter color.
You Need To Take a Breather- Even though you may feel naked without your nails polished, take a three day break every three weeks to keep your nails healthy.
Cheers,
Jess
