I love a good sparkly New Years Eve dress, but the older I get the more I worry about the small comforts of life, like staying warm and not walking home in 5 inch heels. I hate walking around the city freezing cold in a tiny dress, oh the torture of that NYE in Milwaukee, -5 degrees in a sparkly skirt with no cabs in sight (Alana and Kimberly do you remember this). Last year I knew I had to walk almost a mile home after the NYE party ended. So I was sure to pack in my clutch little foldable flats, people might laugh at first but I know they were jealous when they were walking barefooted and I was in my comfortable flats. This year I decided no more freezing cold legs or uncomfortable feet, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be comfortable AND stylish.
I decided I’m going to make pants cool this NYE. I came up with this cute outfit, black pleather leggings, a tank with a few sequins, fitted white blazer, and a gold sequin clutch (cause what is NYE without some sequins)! I love this look for a more casual NYE that involves a nice dinner and bringing in 2015 at a friends house or in a lounge type situation. Mind you I wouldn’t wear this outfit to a “club” NYE party. But with my husband having to work the next day at 6am, I highly doubt we will be hitting up the “Portland Club Scene” mind you there isn’t a club scene in Portland so I’m in the clear to wear this outfit anywhere.
