This week we are dedicating all of our blog post’s to men. Food, gifts, and men’s fashion are all on the agenda this week. We are starting the week off by sharing our husband’s favorite recipes we make. I asked Ang to share Carey’s favorite recipe she makes and I will be sharing Jay’s. Ang and I are excited to share with you some great men’s ideas, as much as we love sharing our girlie food tips we figured it would be fun to give some attention to the wonderful husbands of ours!
This was tough for me cause my (Jess) husband (Jay) has quite a few when I asked him his favorite. It was a tie between my mom’s pork chop recipe I make and my ground turkey curry pita pizzas. He chose the pita pizza’s I am not using my original photos cause I haven’t taken any and my husband is working nights so I’ve been off the hook as far as cooking has been going.

Ground Turkey Pita Pizza’s
Ingredients
In a medium skillet, heat 2 tablespoons olive oil over medium heat.
Add the onion and curry powder and cook, stirring, until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes. Add the turkey and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the cheese until blended. Remove from the heat and stir in the yogurt, lemon peel and lemon juice; set aside. (this sounds weird I know, but it is amazing)
In a small bowl, mix the tomato, cucumber, parsley and remaining 1/4 cup olive oil; season with salt and pepper.
Place a warm pita on each plate, top with the turkey curry and tomato salad.

Like Jess, when I (Ang) asked my husband (Carey) what his favorite recipe was he had a hard time narrowing it down. I was a little surprised when he decided on my Oatmeal Breakfast Bars. I thought he would pick one of my savory dishes but I guess this goes to show just how good these breakfast bars are. Don’t let the name fool you though, we eat them for breakfast, as snacks through out the day and even for desert! These things are seriously delicious. I often make them for my husband to share with his teammates while traveling and they are always a big hit. I am constantly being asked to share the recipe.
