I have been getting some questions about my Christmas decor so I decided to share a not so quick snapshot of our house. I went on a real Christmas decor binge this year and got ALOT of new stuff. I feel like I'm the Christmas decor expert right now as I think I have went to every store in town. I will share with you some of my favorite items as well as some places to go scope out if you are still looking for some new Christmas items.
FirePlace
This year's new Christmas decor pretty much centered around our fireplace mantel. The fireplace is the focal point of our entire living space and I wanted it to look good. We have really tall ceilings in our living room so the challenge to get the proper height. My aunt had given me the idea when she was visiting to do vases or candles of different sizes on my mantel. I took that idea and applied it to Christmas trees. I found these trees at all different places around town, like Hobby Lobby, Real Deals, and Shopko. Last year for Christmas Jay got me this reindeer at Lemon Grass that I am obsessed with it. (I found a similar one below that I'm share with you. Also check out this Glitter Deer Head for only $89.00) To make even more of a statement with it we added a wreath which we found at Home Depot.
For the rest of the mantel I added some real garland that I got at Home Depot as well as a mercury glass garland that I got at a local store called All In The Details. The final touch to the mantel was some LED lights on batteries. GAME CHANGER!!!

Because we had a lot going on with this fireplace I decided to do our stocking in another room in the house. I kept our wine room pretty simple with our Pottery Barn Kids stockings and this sleigh we got as a gift last year. On black Friday Home Depot was having some great deals on big poinsettias so I added a few to the sleigh and as simple as that this room was done!
Christmas Tree and STaircase
OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE WE GOT A FAKE TREE!!!! In all my years I have NEVER had a fake tree. I am such a real tree kind of gal, but this year I wanted to get my tree up early and I decided to give the fake tree a chance. Because of this we ended up buying our fake tree at Walmart on black friday. I figured I didn't want to invest in a tree if we weren't going to love it. We scored this one for under $200 and I think it looks great.
For the stairs I started out with a real garland, but it dried out so quickly. I ended up running to Lowes and found this prelit fake garland. I figured it was easier to invest in a garland I can use year after year instead of having the hassle of buying a fresh garland and wrapping it in lights every year. The fun part about this is I plan on changing out the bows from year to year. This is a great way to change up your Christmas decor without it costing you much. All it took was 2 spools of ribbon from Hobby Lobby (for 50% off) and some floral wire and my mom and I created these bows.
Reindeer are my theme for my tree as well as most things in my house. I had a few ornaments I got last year and I picked up some new ones for this year. But since I've had smaller trees in years past I had to buy some ornaments to fill it up. I ended up getting some great ones from Walmart to get me through this Christmas season. But once the ornaments go on sale after Christmas I plan on getting some more. I love Pier 1 ornaments and I can't wait to check out their selection post Christmas.
DIning ROom Decor.... Oh Wait More REindeer
Everywhere you look you see reindeer. I got these big reindeer a few years ago after Christmas from Pier 1. This year I was at Shopko and I found these little guys. They were already 50% off so I had to have them. I didn't buy anything new for this room I just used some old ornaments I wasn't using for my tree and an old Christmas tree. I didn't wan't to go overboard and buy all new decor I want to go slowly room by room over the next few years. I eventually want to do something a little more modern for this dining room. I think with the black wall and all the blue colors I could do something really cool, but until then these cute little deer will have to work.
Other Decor
For our kitchen island I pulled from stuff I had. It is amazing if you just re-arange your decor you have the stuff you come up with. I love how this natural little reindeer scene turned out.
Now to our kitchen table, this is opposite of the nature scene. My mom picked up this rhinestone deer from Tuesday Mornings for $19. She also had some old ornaments she was going to donate. I quickly grabbed them and put them into our fruit bowls that we use to create our little kitchen table scene. I'm all about my Mom's hand me downs. If anyone lives by their Mom's I highly suggest raiding their Christmas decor that is sitting in their boxes. I'm sure you will find some amazing stuff!
The last little spot of our house is this cozy little corner in our dine in kitchen. I really wanted to flocked tree in a pot. I searched on the internet but was surprised to find one that I loved at Home Depot. It is Martha Stewarts line for them and this tree was $80 I believe. I threw a little faux fur rug and it is one of my favorite spots in the house.

Just wanted to share my Christmas decor with you. This year was my first year decorating my house so I was so eager to share my ideas with everyone. I also wanted to share some ways I used old decor in a fresh new way. Clearly we had to do some investing this year into Christmas Decor but I was pleasantly surprised the quality of stuff I got from places like Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, Shopko, and other stores. Also don't forget to shop local! I love hitting up all the little local store around the holidays cause they truly have the best hand picked stuff!
Cheers,
Jess
