Give me an excuse to overdress and I'll take it! So an October wedding in Seattle was the perfect opportunity to try out "Rent the Runway" and get myself a long dress. I'd normally never buy a $300 long dress to wear once, but I was dying to wear a longer dress. So I turned to rent the runway and stole this little number for $50 (cause I had a coupon for first time order). I know so many people are afraid to use this service so I thought I'd blog all about it!
But first, how beautiful is this bride. One of my good sorority sisters Janet got married last weekend. It was my first night away from Leo. I couldn't think of a better first night away than dancing to some old school hip hop with a few of my favorite ladies on the planet. Shout out to UW AXO!! SITB always!!
I had the best time browsing the Rent the Runway site. This blog post is by no means a sponsored post I just wanted to share my experience with you all. I spent a good week navigating the site and figuring out what dress I wanted. I ended up falling in love with this color block dress that was a dark blue and black. For the wedding I wanted it a little more casual so I paired it with some open toed shoes and a leather jacket. Here is how the process works you can either rent a dress for 8 or 4 days. For this event I rented the dress for 4 days. It arrived on Thursday and the wedding was Saturday. You get a free backup size, so I got a size 4 and 6. The 4 ended up working out better for me. So I had the dress Thursday-Sunday, which meant that I had it until Monday morning to mail it back. The quality of the dress was amazing, the size 6 had been worn but I couldn't tell. The size 4 still had the tags on it, I was the first one to wear it. So a win for me:) On Monday morning I simple put the 2 dresses back in the bag they came in and attached the pre paid mailing label to the bag and dropped if off at UPS. Simple as that!
They clearly have this process nailed down. The selection was impressive. I personally know my body type so I knew this dress would fit me. Also getting 2 sizes was nice it took the stress off the process. The site was great for helping you size it, there are real life people who do reviews of each dress and help you for sizing. More about the dress HERE . All in all I HIGHLY recommend this site so much that I'm using it for an event again in 2 weeks!
