My Spring and Summer clothes are all over the place. Two summers ago I was pregnant and last summer I was nursing and hadn't lost all my baby weight. So what is a girl to do that day before leaving to Arizona and realizing I have nothing to wear that actually fits..... head to the mall. I'm from the Tri-CIties and let me tell you our shopping isn't ideal, but with a vision and a little creativity I was able to put together the perfect travel outfit. More about this outfit and shopping tips below.....
I went to the mall with a mental checklist.... something that is easy to pack, something that I will feel comfortable in, something to show off all the lunges and squats I've been doing, and something I can wear again this summer. ROMPER jumped into my brain, but where would I find one. I headed to a store called Concepts at our mall. It is the one store I can usually find something when in need. I started searching the racks and found quite a few rompers. I love some pattern but with this short romper a basic color is best. I settled on this grey romper, next I needed some COLOR and something to cover my behind..... a KIMONO came to mind. I love a good kimono because it provides a little coverage, but is super lightweight and can be worn at the pool and with an outfit. I found this pink little kimono and my outfit was set. Now back home to figure out the accessories....
I paired this outfit with a geode necklace I had picked up earlier this spring and a magenta clutch I posted about last week. I was telling you how much I would be using the bright clutch this summer and as you can see I am! Now for the shoes, I paired it with the shoes I had planned to wear to the wedding. Cause let's face it I was trying to pack light and packing multiple pairs of heels adds up.
The moral of this blog post is no matter how small of town you live in or when you think "there is no where to shop" ..... I'm here to prove you wrong. I bet you could find something very similar to this outfit a Target, Macys, JCpennys and even Kohls. The biggest thing is go into it with an idea of what you are looking for and when in doubt go with anything classic. After you find your main piece head home and search your closet to accessorize the outfit. You would be surprised all the different ideas you can come up with. I know personally when I'm needing some inspiration I search different #hashtags on instagram, like #summerfashion, #springstyle and I then have some major outfit inspiration.
