Hi there I can't believe we are almost a week into fall. My house is already decorated in halloween/fall stuff and I have my fall scents going in my scentsy warmer.....but it has been 80 degrees. I am so glad we live in a place where we have 4 seasons cause I AM SO OVER SUMMER. I have always been drawn to fall colors hence why I had a fall wedding and I also love all the fall clothes. So when I saw this plaid shirt on Zara I had to have it. I mean how much more fall can you get than a traditional red and black plaid shirt...... with embroidery on the back. Ummm hello did Zara design this shirt with me in mind. I think so!
It hasn't been cold enough here to wear this top, but when we were in Sandpoint Idaho I was able to. I paired this with my favorite Madewell black jeans, I feel like I need to add some more brands to my jean collection but Madewell just fits me so well and I love the quality. If you guys haven't tried Madewell stuff I recommend it, I love their jeans the most! I wanted this look to be more of a evening outfit so I paired it with some pretty tall black chunky heels. We walked into town which was about a 1/2 mile each way and these shoes didn't bother me. I swear a chunky heel is the secret to life!
So as you can see the back of the shirt makes a big statement. The only negative thing I've found with this shirt is that the back is heavy so the shirt slips down in the back. I made sure to tuck it in in the front to keep it from doing that. But since it is more oversized it think it looks better tucked in anyways.
Speaking on the tucked in look, why did this just become popular again.... mostly why did this go out of style? I think outfits look so much cleaner with the shirts tucked in. I am on the belt with jeans thing yet, I used to be a big into belts in high school. I think I just have to ease myself into the trends. Just like every girl I've been eyeing a Gucci belt , but I can't justify spending $400 on a belt. I mean I know it is timeless but it seems silly to spend it on the belt.... don't you think? I also know my Husband wouldn't be happy if he found out I spent $400 on a belt. Thankfully he doesn't really read my blog posts so if I do end up getting one I can probably tell him I paid like $150 and he might believe me!
