Jay LOVES pizza and I do too. I'm not a pasta person so I don't have a hard time skipping that but give Jay and I a pizza and we have a hard time not eating the entire thing. So for Father's Day this year we did thin crust pizzas on the grill.... and they were OH SO GOOD! I got a few questions on instagram so I thought I'd blog about the easy process of pizzas on the grill.
Pepperoni Pizza
Procuitto Arugula Pizza
- Pizza Crust (We like the Stoneware Artisan Thin Pizza Crusts)
- Tomato Sauce
- Mozzarella (We like the big fresh balls of Moz but you could use shredded)
- Pepperoni
- Oregano
Procuitto Arugula Pizza
- Pizza Crust
- Olive Oil
- Proscuitto (I like mine crispy so I cooked it before in a pan for a few minutes)
- Mozzarella
- Arugula
- Balsamic Vinegar (I reduced this in a pan)
- Crushed Red Pepper
Directions
- Heat grill between 400 and 450 degrees
- Drizzle both sides of the pizza dough with olive oil.
- Place pizza dough on grill
- Cook for a few minutes on each side
- Remove pizza crust and add your toppings
- Put pizza back on the grill, cook for a few more minutes.
- Move to top rack of grill, close grill, and let it cook until cheese is melted
The possibilities on the toppings are endless. I like to be a bit more creative with my pizza toppings but Jay likes to go simple. We served this with a big green salad and a delicious bottle of rose wine. This would be really fun for kids to be able to make their own pizzas. I want to say the whole process took us no longer than 20 minutes.
I hope you guys are having a good week, I keep thinking I'll have more time to blog but that doesn't seem to be the case. Summers get so busy and Monroe is at the stage where she crawls and pulls herself up on everything and eats anything in sight. So I can't turn my back for a second. So much so that we had to take the ottoman out of our living room so now our living room looks so silly with just a sectional and one chair. Oh well! The things we do for our kids.
Cheers,
Jess
