What I packed In My Hospital Bag And A Gift For The Nurses

Here is a quick recap of what I packed in my hospital bag. I ended up being in the hospital for quite a few nights so I needed a little more than what I listed. I also included a little gift I made for the nurses and doctors. I am so glad I did they seemed beyond grateful for the small little gesture.

Baby is here and the nightmare of the hospital visit is over. I didn't have the best labor, I was induced and was in labor for almost 3 days before we ended up having to have a c-section. Which I'm glad we did because Baby Leo weighed 10 lbs. I had lots of time at the hospital (6 nights) so I have lots of items that were used. I pretty much used all of the items as listed, but I'll go over a few items that I couldn't live without or ones that I didn't list.

My Must Have List:

1. Extra PJ's- I had to have my mom bring more since I was in the hospital for so long. I also suggest packing a few extra nursing tanks.
2. Laptop with Movies- Because I was induced we need up watching a few movies.
3. Snacks- Hospital food takes about an hour to get there. After delivery I would wake up to feed and would be starving I didn't want to wait an hour for breakfast. I ended up having some trail mix and snacked on that every morning before breakfast was delivered.
4. Portable Sound Machine- We first tried using our phones, but they drained our battery. I had my Mom bring our portable sound machine. It was key, we use it pretty much still use it everyday.
5. Little Mittens For Baby's Hands- Crazy how sharp a newborn nails can be. He scratched himself the first day so we made sure we kept mittens on him the whole hospital visit. Despite swaddling him they somehow find a way to get their little hands out.
6. Boppy- It was nice to learn from the beginning how to nurse using the boppy.
7. Pillow- I didn't put my pillow on the list, but after being in the hospital for so long my pillow from home was a must!
8. Extra Clothes For the Hubby- We had to have extra clothes delivered to the hospital for my husband, my husband is a minimalist so he didn't pack enough. Make sure you encourage your husband to throw in some extra clothing cause you never know how birth is going to go and you might end up being there long than you thought.
9. Camera- Which is an obvious one.

Gift For Nurses and Doctors!
I went past by due date so I had lots of time awaiting the baby. I decided I wanted to have some gifts for the nurses and doctors who helped me. Thank goodness I did since I was in the hospital for 6 days. I made these little lip balm cards for everyone. It was so easy I whipped them together in photoshop in a few moments and simply glued on the EOS Lip Balm. I gave them to my doctors and the nursing staff that cared for us while we were in the hospital. I was surprised how grateful they were for them. One nurse even had tears in her eyes and most of them hugged me. The doctors and nurses truly make your experience and it was something so simple I was able to do for them after ALL that they did for our little family. I have seen a bunch of other gift items on pinterest, so I highly suggest looking online for some other great ideas.

last but Not Least......Meet Baby Leo!

Weighing in at 9 lbs 15 oz this big guy is such a cutie. We are figuring out our schedules and the new routine of life. So far the only thing I can say about parenthood is it is very challenging, but we adore this sweet little boy more than we ever could imagine.

Dear Jessica and/or Jess,

I'm back yet again and even with the same comment that I made on one of your entries in this category.

I know I'm belated in all of hearing/reading/seeing this, but still its worth giving a comment to here. That also goes for saying congratz and good luck as well. Even through its been a little over a yr since this has occurred. At the same time I have also noticed wheres the 2nd part of this 2 part series because I don't think saw part above this entry.

Hmm beyond all good/bad for you/them, interesting, okay, understandable, and WOW.

Yet again another on this. Especially, one would think all of this should be over now. At the same time I'm also thinking of this being of the many possible scenarios that all of us should be beyond alert/prepared for/disaster/emergency preparedness/survival/whstf. I mean for all of man made/natural ones as opposed to one over the other. Especially, including all of civilians as well as professional. Everyone/where else should all do it as well.

I also highly recommend beyond all of start doing you own learning and researching on it as well. I mean this also applies beyond to everything that I have mentioned above here. Is it possible to give a reason/s as to why you choose not to do a birth story. Even through all of it was in here, but still to me I much matter prefer that way.

At the same time that also applies to how guys chose the name Leo as well.

It also includes making a entry/ies on how you and Jay met, dated, got engaged, and married as well.
