I keeping seeing things pop up or people talking about all the health benefits of Tumeric. I decided to dive deeper and see what the rage is all about. After reading all about it (I really liked this article) I decided I needed to try and incorporate it into my diet. Turmeric is common in South Asian cooking, but hadn't made it's way into my spice cabinet. After doing the research and reading all the amazing benefits of the spice I decided to add it into our diet. You can get it both in raw or powdered form. I was able to find both forms at my local grocery store. Best of all it tastes pretty darn good and is good for you.
The benefits of turmeric are largely due to its curcumin content. More about that magical little substance here! But for those of you who don't like like geeking out and reading all the articles I highlighted some of the benefits.

Great, that sounds good now how do I incorporate this into my diet. I'm not a big curry fan or Indian food so I searched pinterest for some recipes, i figured smoothies would be an easy place to start. Most smoothie recipes used pineapple, but I had a billion bananas I needed to use up so I put something together. It turned out really really good. Even my husband drank it and said this takes like a banana smoothie.

- Helpful for arthritis, because of the anti-inflammatory properties.

INGREDIENTS
Blend all tighter and top with turmeric.

- 1 medium-sized bananas
- ½ cup Almond Milk
- ½ tsp turmeric
- ½ tsp ginger, minced
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp honey
- 6 ice cubes

There are a number of other uses for Turmeric.... needless to stay I spent way too much time on pinterest and the internet looking up all the ways to use it. I highlighted a few and if any seem interesting just type turmeric, ______ and the subject below and you will be wowed and all the amazing things this little spice can do.
That is just a few of the ways to use turmeric at home, I'm dying to try the face mask. People swear by it, they also said it is good for acne scars. Needless to say it is a good $5.00 grocery store purchase.
