White floral maxi is a bit out of my comfort zone, but when I saw this one online I thought I'd give it a try. I was afraid I'd look like a boho bride or something wearing all white. But that certainly wasn't the case. This dress needed the perfect backdrop and what a better backdrop than a blooming apple orchard. Read more about my views on floral prints and other patterns......
Floral print never goes out of style and this floral print is very traditional. When personally choosing a floral pattern I like to go for big floral prints vs small ones. I think they are fresher and look more youthful. I tend to like bolder patterns as well, I don't personally enjoy patterns like gingham they just seem too busy. I know they are very popular but for me personally I don't think they look great. When choosing a pattern for yourself pick something that you first LOVE and that you know will look good on you. I don't wear a lot of stripes as they don't look as good on my shorter frame, but someone like my Mom who is 4 inches taller than me they look great on. It is all about knowing what you look good in.
Next thing when choosing a pattern is color. I tend to pick plain base colors, like a white, grey, or black then I let all the pattern or floral print do the talking. Less busy is best! Plus when you pick a black or a white top with a pattern it is more versitlte for you to wear with all types of bottoms.
Lastly, I wanted to talk about the off the shoulder trend, which is still so big right now. I LOVE the way it looks, but I hate the way I am constantly tugging to keep the straps down. The more shirts I've tried like this the more I realize that actually having it looser around the shoulders is easier to keep the straps downs. I go a size UP when I wear off the shoulder stuff. Just a little tip!

I am recovering from the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill concert last night. It was amazing, exactly what I expected. Hopefully I will find some time this weekend to think up some creative blog posts. I've been so busy lately I feel like I haven't had any time to blog. But it is almost summer and we all know how crazy summer time gets.
Cheers,
Jess
