Thank goodness it is a new year. Last year I chose a new monthly goal instead of resolutions (check out here) but I found a month wasn't long enough to form a new habit or really get into my goal. So instead this year I am picking 6 goals instead of 12 and really focusing in on them. I found that I really loved this approach vs having one big new year resolution. Each month I would get excited to check out the post and see what goal I had. My goals this years are simple and what work for me in my life. I'm choosing to take on my biggest task in September and October because Leo will be starting full day Kindergarten and I know I will be missing him. So why not be distracted by a big task.
January- No Shop January
Last year I did no shop January and I think this is going to be a thing I stick to forever. It is such a good cleanse from all the Christmas shopping and all the "stuff". This means no new clothes (except if the kids need something) no home decor, not amazon crap....you get the idea. If I really want it I'll put it in my amazon cart and if after a month I still want it I'll buy it. The only thing I have to buy for is Leo's birthday who's at the beginning of February but I feel like I get a hall pass for that.

February- March- Reading At Night
I am queen of the audio books I go through one a week but I'm terrible at reading at night. I read last year for a month but I really think I need two months of it for it to become a habit. My goal for these two months is to read at least 3-4 nights per week in bed.

April- May - Social Media Break
Ok ok I am not taking an actual break for 2 straight months from social media but I think it would be great for me to take a week break in both April and May. I think in the end I will love this break and really focus on the kids and who knows maybe this becomes something I continue to do.

June- July- August- Eliminate A Bad Habit
I have yet to pinpoint which bad habit I am going to cut out but let's face it we all have our laundry list. I wanted to take the summer months to really focus in on a bad habit to cut out. I will update you more but some of my bad habits include, letting laundry sit upstairs not put away for up to a week, keeping kitchen island cleaned off throughout the day (does anyone else island turn into a giant catch all), or eating healthy all day only to snack on skittles and sour patch kids at night. I am eager to get some bad habits broken and who knows I might even try and break a few.

September- October- Organize
Hello Home Edit! I 100% could be more organized in most of areas including my garage. I picked September and October because Leo will be starting full day kindergarten and I think I will have ALOT of extra hours on my hands. Plus I am going to really miss him so a big project sounds like something that'll keep me busy. I might have to rewatch the Home Edit to get inspiration!

November - December- Find an organization to donate to and fundraise for.
This year at Christmas we normally do backpacks for foster care through Jay's hospital but that didn't happen. So instead I decided to find a nonprofit to donate to. With a few simple posts to instagram we raised over $2500 and well over $2000 in items for a foster care nonprofit. My goal is to find another deserving organization and raise either funds, goods, or volunteer. This is something I am most excited about as far as my goals go.
Now lets hope 2021 will be a better year. If not we all will continue to adapt and go along with how we have been living. Cheers to hope and adventure ahead.
