As schools begin to be called off for fall and as we prepare to "hunker down" this winter I wanted to highlight some home school items and toys. I would say it is highly likely things will get worst over the winter and we will be spending just as much time at home than ever.... I'm sorry to break that news to you. So before things sell out here are a list of some educational and play items I suggest getting. I have a feeling alot of "homeschooling" items are going to go fast. While Leo's school (private) is choosing to go back Sept 1, we are opting to keep him at home at least for the first month, but probably going to keep him home all year.
This isn't your usual Anniversary Sale post. Normally it is cute dresses, jeans, sweaters, heels and some other fun items. But this year for me it is all about comfort. I think Nordstrom took that into consideration because alot of their items were athletic, lounge wear, sneakers, and my favorite... tons of bralettes! Here is my quick picks for the sale this year.
Finally after living in my house for nearly 4 years I finally got new living room furniture. While I would of loved to be able to buy new furniture right when we moved, that wasn't in the cards for us. We decided this spring to get new furniture and oh my do you see why people hire interior designers. My style isn't the popular Joanna Gaines, target, mid centery modern style that you find everywhere, so I had to work a little harder to find items I wanted. Oh and buying all furniture sight unseen during Covid was a bit of a task. I don't think it'll surprise anyone that I love pops color, items that tend to make more of a statement, and mostly I love mixing textures. So thankfully my Aunt Joni (amazing interior designer) put up with all my text messages every time I ran into a problem or needed courage to take a chance and buy pink chairs! While my taste isn't for everyone it really fits my personality and the style of my home which is more traditional. Now let's take a little look back into how much my home has changed since we bought it in 2016.
Green the forgotten color. Everyone looks so good in jewel tones specifically green. Over the past few years I've started wearing more green. But boy is green hard to find especially a good green. I prefer more a dark green cause I feel like this color looks good with all skin tones and hair colors. I took these photos was before covid when my hair and nails were done and 2020 had a bright future. How times quickly changed. Not that anyone is in the market for new clothes but I love this green and wanted to share with you. Here are a few of my favorite green items out there.
Episode 278 of me ordering the wrong thing on clicklist. Last weeks goof up was the 13 cartons of blueberries. So blueberry recipe research began and here are a few things I came up with. A yummy fruit salad with a honey lemon drizzle, frozen yogurt covered berries for the kids to snack on, and a lemon blueberry cake with a blueberry buttercream.
Times are tough between a pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement, there is a lot of heavy topics for little ones. The kids had an abrupt ending into their school years and their normal lives seem to be gone. Now they are getting used to seeing people with masks on and catching glimpse of the news and protests that lead to a lot of questions. This blog post is not about talking to your kids about a virus or racism. I am not an expert able to tell you how to talk to your children, but please educate yourself on how to do that and make sure you aren't avoiding the conversation about covid19 or racism. This post is about sharing a few things your child needs to hear in this world that seems scary and big to them.
I don't have time to journal is what most people say. Well I believed that too until my girlfriend Liz told me about how to bullet journal. I did a little research about typically bullet journaling ,which I think is a great concept. Check out how to bullet journal HERE. But what I took away from it that you don't have to write lot of words down but you can just write down a few things that are important. The other fun thing about doing a journal this way is that you can kind of bust out your old high school gel pens and have fun doodling. This is my favorite thing to do in the morning, devotional, coffee and some doodling. I decided to take this type of journaling and apply it to my daily devotional (seen above). So check out some journals and devotionals that will allow you to take a stab at bullet journaling.
That dreaded time of the year swimsuit season. It always takes so long to find the right suit for your body. I put together a big list of my favorite swimsuits from inexpensive amazon finds to more brand name suits. Swimsuits this season is most of them are already on sale due to corona so if you were wanting to get a new suit this is your year.
Let's talk workout gear. I did a instagram poll about what people are shopping for and it seemed like people were shopping for mostly workout clothes. Well that is good to know because that is all I am wearing. I feel so much better when I have a cute workout outfit on rather than some baggy sweats. So I rounded up all my favorites in each category. But first lets talk about this outfit. This bright outfit is from Fabletics. I started using Fabletics about a year ago. I like them for athleisure wear but they don't tend to be my favorites for actually working out. These neon shorts are so fun but are a touch see through so if I was at the gym that would bother me. But for running errands and working out at home I don't mind. Check out this outfit HERE!
Yes you read that right a bagel salad. So you can act like your eating well with a side of bagel. I have been making homemade croutons for years. I love what they add to homemade soups and salads but I have never thought about using a bagel. GAME CHANGER.
