Summers are for BBQing, but I get tired of the same type of things on the grill. I created this thai grilled chicken served with a cashew quinoa salad. I have been gluten, egg, dairy, and peanut free for a few months now so coming up with creative recipes with all my restrictions is limiting. You could make this quinoa salad with peanuts if you wanted but the cashews really add a good flavor to it. So when you are looking for a healthy meal this week try this recipe out!
We have been oven-less for about 2 months at our rental house, so I have gotten creative with the crockpot and the BBQ. Like everyone else I use our oven a lot, I only really knew how to make soups and a few other little things in the crockpot. But thank goodness for pinterest I have been able to find some great slow cooker recipes. This is one of my favorites, I've made it a few times and tweaked it to make it easy and simple!
BBQ season is here and I couldn't be more excited that the grill is up and running. I am not a big beef eater, but my husband is, so occasionally I surprise him when he comes home from work with a big steak. I came up with this delicious flank steak recipe (and it is so pretty). This is the perfect recipe to serve to WOW your BBQ guests.
Stir fry is something that has been getting eaten at our house a lot. I can make a big batch for dinner and eat it as left overs for lunch during the week. I was getting tired of chicken so decided to make a pork recipe. This is one of my best batches I've made thus far so I thought I'd share it with you!
I could eat sushi every single day, love the stuff! I have tried numerous times making it at home but can't seem to get the roll thing down. Mine always seem to fall apart and just doesn't taste the same. Instead of doing it the proper way and making it in a roll I decided to just threw everything together in a bowl...and guess what, it was delicious! Not to mention so much easier and faster.
It's easter weekend! And we have your Easter covered, from table decorations, brunch recipes, cocktail recipes, and even some cute floral maxi dresses! First let's talk about table decor. I personally love using all my colored glassybaby to decorate the table. Camden Gardens in Seattle put together these adorable flower arrangements using an array of flowers! I love how they turned out, you can make these so easily for your easter table.
I discovered this recipe when I was pregnant. I couldn't do any red sauces due to heart burn so I was on a quest to find a no sauce pasta. I came upon this one in my Giada everyday italian cook book. This is my favorite Italian cookbook. I was gifted it by an italian family friend she assured me it is true italian cooking. I have made many recipes from it and they have all been amazing. I edited this recipe a little from hers, to make it a little more spicy. My husband is obsessed with it and I would agree so am I!
I've decided winter is over! Well maybe not, but I'm so over soups and the crock pot. I decided this week just because it feels like winter doesn't mean I have to eat like it's winter. This salad is inspired by one of my favorite salads I get in Scottsdale. I can even get my husband to eat this salad, he claims "it's the best salad" I make. Even though we have a few more weeks of winter, we might as well eat like it's spring! So pour yourself a Arnold Palmer and enjoy this refreshing salad.
It's the middle winter and we have the sniffles at my house. Nothing cures the winter blues and a cold like homemade chicken noodle soup! I won't like to say this is a quick soup to whip up, but I can't. It takes awhile since you make your own stock, but after making it a few years ago I can't make any other recipe. Other chicken noodle soups just don't taste as good. Trust me it is worth the time!
A few weeks ago I was visiting my girlfriend in Cleveland, we stopped for lunch and I had the most delicious black bean burger. I have dreaming of this burger ever since I got back home. I finally had to take action and try to replicate it.
