So this is still a "work in progress" but it is closer to done and I was dying to share this room with you from our remodel. Jay and I are fairly big wine drinkers, when we bought our house we were stumped on where to put our wine cellar. After ALOT of searching of HOUZZ I came up with an idea and showed it to our contractors. To my SURPRISE they went above and beyond creating my vision. This is how we turned our "formal living room" into the coolest room in our house.
So if you followed this blog at all you know I'm crazy about the sun and protecting yourself from it. Well I am even more crazy about protecting my child. At the end of this blog post I will give you some facts that will hopefully make you become crazy about protecting your child from the sun too. But the one that really stuck with me was that someone's risk for melanoma can double if they have had more than 5 sunburns at any age. That is such a scary fact because I know I have had well over 5 sunburns in my life. So I know Leo won't always be as strict about his sunblock, shade, and sun wear, but while I am in control you better believe he will be covered from head to toe!
Every 6 or so months I go through and update you on my favorite new products. I don't think it's been 6 months quite yet, but I'm really digging these new products so much that I had to do a quick post and share them with you!
When we bought our new house one of the first thing that dated the home was the "yellow" looking cabinets. They were everywhere in the house, don't get me wrong the house was very nicely built but wasn't my style. One of the main rooms I wanted to remodel was the master bathroom. I learned the most remodeling tidbits from this room. No matter what we did I couldn't make it my "dream" master bathroom. But making one big change and a few small ones I was able to transform it into a bathroom I could really love.
I have a fun little post today! One skirt and two looks! I saw this skirt online and fell in love with it because of the embroidery. I'm a sucker for embroidery! I styled it for some PNW spring weather, but when I was headed to Arizona and needed a outfit for a rehearsal dinner I thought of this skirt again. The idea was born of one skirt two ways to wear it. This great skirt works for both Spring and Summer and I will show you how.
Ok first remodel post for the blog!! I'm so excited to start sharing with you our remodel, but we haven't finished every room so I'll be slowly sharing each room once I feel like it's finished. I'm dying to show you our new "wine room" next but I'm waiting to get some art for it so I think I'll have to wait a little longer. I'll give you a little backstory on the house then start with the official remodel run down.
I like to keep new toys and activities in our bathroom to keep Leo entertained while I do my hair and makeup in the morning. I was looking for a new activity and noticed how much he loved getting things out of my make up drawers and dropping them into the hamper. The idea was born to do an Easter Egg sorting box. It was so quick and easy and we will be using it long after this Easter weekend is over.
If you are in need of a quick and easy way to dye easter eggs, I have the answer for you. I really wanted Leo to dye eggs but knew he was too little to dye them the traditional way. I did a little looking online and found a lot of ideas but this one seemed like it would work best. Not only was there NO mess but Leo was able to get into it.
